Hyundai Santa Fe: Driving Convenience / Highway Driving Assist (HDA)
Highway Driving Assist is designed to help detect vehicles and lanes ahead, and
help maintain distance from the vehicle ahead, maintain the set speed, and help
center the vehicle in the lane while driving on the highway (or motorway).
Information
- The Highway Driving Assist is available only on controlled access road
of certain highways.
ÃÃControlled access road indicates roads with limited entrances and exits that
allow uninterrupted high speed traffic flow. Only passenger cars and motorcycles
are allowed on controlled access roads.
- Additional highways may be expanded by future navigation updates.
Detecting sensor

CAUTION
For more details on the precautions of the detecting sensors, refer to “Forward
Collision-Avoidance Assist (FCA)” section in chapter 7.
System malfunction
When Lane Following Assist is not working properly, the ‘Check Lane Following
Assist (LFA) system’ (or ‘Check LFA (Lane Following Assist) system’) warning message
will appear on the cluster...
Setting functions for the system
Highway Driving Assist
With the engine on, select or deselect ‘Driver Assistance → Driving Convenience’
from the Settings menu to set whether or not to use the following function(s)...

Inspection
1.
Turn the ignition switch OFF.
2.
Disconnect the temperature control actuator connector.
3.
Verify that the temperature control actuator operates to the cool position
when connecting 12V to terminal 3 and grounding terminal 7...
Removal
1.
Disconnect the negative (-) battery terminal.
2.
Remove the steering wheel.

3.
Remove the steering column upper and lower shrouds...

The vehicles are equipped with a Supplemental Air Bag System for the driver’s
seat and front passenger’s seats.
The front air bags are designed to supplement the three-point seat belts. For
these air bags to provide protection, the seat belts must be worn at all times when
driving.
